Robert Noven, M.D. Internal Medicine and Aviation Medical Examiner
THE NEW RULES FOR COLOR VISION TESTING HAVE GONE INTO EFFECT. NEW APPLICANTS OR THOSE WHO WANT TO UPGRADE WILL REQUIRE ONE TIME TESTING. ANYBODY WHO IS ALREADY CERTIFIED, WITH OR WITHOUT A SODA OR LOE FOR COLOR VISION, WILL NOT REQUIRE TESTING. PRIOR MILITARY TESTING WITH SIMILAR EQUIPMENT MAY BE ACCEPTED.
I WILL BE ABLE TO PERFORM TWO OF THE THREE TESTS IN MY OFFICE: THE WAGGONER AND THE RABIN TEST. DUE TO THE COST OF THE REQUIRED EQUIPMENT, A $45 CHARGE WILL BE ADDED FOR THE TESTING EXCEPT FOR FULL TIME AVIATION STUDENTS.
DUE TO THIS EQUIPMENT AND OTHER COSTS, I WILL BE INCREASING MY COSTS FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE PARTIALLY OR FULLY REIMBURSED BY THEIR AIRLINE OR EMPLOYER. THIS WILL ALLOW ME TO AVOID PRICE INCREASES FOR STUDENTS, CFI'S AND THOSE WHO ARE NOT BEING REIMBURSED FOR THEIR EXAMINATIONS.
I HOPE THAT WE CAN ALL AGREE TO PAY IT FORWARD TO THE PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT IN FINANCIALLY SECURE SITUATIONS. WE HAVE ALL BEEN THERE AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER.
I PERFORM ALL CLASSES OF FAA EXAMINATIONS, ATC EXAMINATIONS AND PARTICIPATE IN THE FAA PROGRAMS FOR DRUG AND ALCOHOL (HIMS) CERTIFICATION. I ALSO SPECIALIZE IN WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE A CURRENT OR PRIOR PSYCHOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS TO OBTAIN MEDICAL CERTIFICATION.
I have been a senior Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) and a HIMS examiner for many years. I work closely with the FAA to expedite applications and minimize the need for deferrals. I provide ongoing communication to address any issues that can arise during subsequent examinations.
I have worked extensively with pilots from United, Southwest, Skywest, American, Republic, Sun Country, Express Jet and many others for regular and HIMS evaluations. I also work with the FAA to provide examinations to air traffic controllers.
Why pay for costly "executive" medical services that you don't need? Why settle for quick office visits that do not address your concerns and provide little follow-up care and communication? I offer a time-based fee that allows you to pay for what you need. My services include comprehensive physical examinations, follow up visits, routine medical care and consultations. I perform in office blood testing, EKG, audiogram and spirometry for pricing that is transparent and fair.
I have provided physical examinations to executives, business leaders and companies for the past 25 years. I was previously the medical director of the executive medical program at Northwestern and developed the protocols and guidelines that were followed in that highly regarded program at that time.
I graduated from the University of Illinois in 1980 and from Northwestern University Medical School in 1984. I completed my Internal Medicine residency in 1987 and I have been certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1987. I have been a member of the teaching faculty at Northwestern University Medical School since 1988 and have been a staff physician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital since 1990.
My philosophy is to approach all patients equally in regard to race, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, nationality, national origin and any other divisive labels. I consider my office to be a safe space for every person to seek medical services without bias or judgement.
